ColorPad

A lightweight tool for capturing colors from the screen or generating them on the fly. This application was created  to assist graphic designers of all sorts, from beginner to expert in their development of computer graphics. ColorPad features persistent zoom, anti-dithering, custom skin support and much more.

Planned Update

It looks like there's some issue with grabbing colors from the desktop and some windows (that aren't internally backed by bitmaps), I'm working on fixing this and will release 2.8 in hopefully not too long (week or so depending on how busy work gets!)

ColorPad History

Originally written in 1999 and sporadically updated until about 2008, this was my first major foray into C (well non-OO C++) and the Win32 API. The intent was to help generate and pick colors for use in HTML/webpage creation and was later expanded to support other formats for doing the same for OpenGL colors. Being a big fan of WinAmp's skinnability and as a result of user requests, I implemented skinning support in early 2000. The user and skinning community that evolved was pure bliss with over 400 skins (that I know of) being made and distributed throughout the years - to you all, I am eternally grateful.
